World Cup
I woke up to news that Belgium had defeated (4-1) the USA in the World Cup.
That wouldn’t normally mean much to anyone else but Belgium but it was significant to many people today because a few days ago, President Trump had contacted the FIFA head to have the red card given to a US player overturned.
That player was then able to play against Belgium last night. But it didn’t do any good.
Dinant
In the afternoon, I made an excursion to Namur. The city sits on a river and is topped by a citadel which I explored briefly. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a chance to get a good shot of the citadel before moving onto Dinant along the River Meuse.
Likewise, Dinant sits on the same river and is also crowned by a citadel. Yep, that’s kinda the case with many medieval cities.
The citadel seemed like hard work to access by steps and the cable car station appeared to be there without the gondolas. I enjoyed the city by exploring both its banks briefly as the weather was extremely hot, probably nearly 30 degC and very sunny.
I had a late lunch by the river and was able to skip dinner later.
