Heart scan & motor show

Calcium Score Test

Following in my footsteps from last year, we went to the Pantai Hospital for Kim to have his Calcium Score CT scan at MYR299.  This costs NZD600 typically in New Zealand and is not covered by any insurance.

As with last year, the admin staff were busy and a bit rushed with their interactions.  We had arrived earlier than the 1030 appointment time and after the admin and waiting, we were done a few minutes after the actual appointment time.

Accurate information is hard to get at this hospital.  We were told that the results would be available within 3h at the counter or 15 days later on the app.  We were also told it wasn’t possible to have the results emailed, but when we pushed, they gave us a form to fill to permit that.

To our great surprise, the results were available on the hospital app that afternoon.

We grabbed a very unhealthy lunch at the hospital food outlets due to lack of other attractive choices before moving on by Grab car to a motor show.

Motor Show

Kim had found that the KLIMS (KL International Mobility Show) was on.  Unfortunately, we miss out on the free entry days but it would probably be too busy.

To enter, we had to fill in a form and pay online but the site went down which meant a bit of waiting by everyone in the queue.

Once inside, we explored the two levels of displays.  There was a very strong Chinese presence with some Japanese and Korean.

We relaxed for the rest of the day and did the typical KL thing of eating and wandering around our nearby malls.  After dinner at the Pavilion Mall, we went to Jalan Alor for a wander and were treated to my first ever drone show at the nearby Bukit Bintang area.  It was modest but nevertheless, my first.
