Meeting with friends

13 June 2026

Today, we went to Mid Valley Mega Mall for a wander in the morning before having lunch.  The eating choices were beyond belief but in the quest for something healthy, we had a delicious salad each at Nando’s.

Kim had a Caesar (with crispy grilled cheese sheets) while I had an Edamame, but we swapped halfway, as we have for 36 years. That chicken outlet is quite expensive in New Zealand so we were pleased to have it here at local prices.

In the afternoon, we had another blind massage, but at a different place.  My masseur was good but Kim’s was awful (so he said).

We finished the day with an Indian dinner with Ashleigh and her husband Tim, and Thomas.  Unfortunately, Patrick wasn’t able to join us.  All of them have a New Zealand connection.

The restaurant was close to the Masjid Jamek and Sultan Abdul Samad Building area, which is now nicely done up.  We had a wander there to walk off dinner.

The latter was the seat of the colonial government of Malaya, then became Courts before being recently renovated and repurposed as public space.
