After breakfast, I tried going to Menara Gardens.  It’s a botanical garden to the west of the city near the Atlas mountains.  Descriptions of it sounded quite appealing but no luck for me today.  No taxi would take me there.

So instead, I went shopping instead.  That’s on my “hate” list while travelling.  But I have to buy a small gift for Mum when I see her soon.  And with so much leather goods here, it makes sense to look for some sandals.

In one shop at the souq, the man was very chummy.  Then he pressed the front of his hips against me.  I felt something very hard.  Wow!  That’s a hard sell unlike any I’ve ever encountered.  It didn’t work.  His prices were stupidly high so I left.

It turned out to be a lazy day.  It’s something I need from time to time on my travels.

For dinner I bought two chicken shwarmas and a freshly-squeezed juice.  I had to give a larger note of 200 Dirhams to the juice man.  He pretended the transaction was complete and served others before eventually giving me the change.  I think he was trying to see if I would forget and just walk off.  This is just so different from Syria and Iran.  Arrrggghh!

I finished my day again at the local hammam in the absence of my own facilities at my simple hotel.
