Freezing, this time in Todra

30 March 2007

It was cold when I woke up, so I enjoyed having breakfast in the sun on the rooftop.

View of ruined kasbahs and palmerie from near my pension.

I began my exploration with a walk through the palmeraie and following the stream which would take me to Todra Gorge. Some how, I ended up on the road which took me to my destination as well. I suppose the road is slightly less scenic but it’s still plenty pretty looking up at the mighty walls of rock on both sides.

It was very hot in the sun but being in the gorge, there were portions that were in the shade that made me realise that the air was freezing.

I met a local man who was learning Chinese by himself. That would be a task-and-a-half! After my walk up the valley, I joined him and his friends for some dates. Nothing like a sugar boost to perk me up after the walk.

For lunch, I had a Berber egg tajine. I took the lazy way back to my accommodation by taxi.

I spent the rest of the day relaxing in the courtyard and going to an internet cafe across the road.
