My bloatedness seems to be continuing (third day). But today I also felt drained. But we went out anyway, driving northwards past Taormina.

We ended up in the beach area of Santa Teresa di Riva, a stretch with nice smooth stones. The water was as clear as southern Albania. We stopped for a coffee before having a cool dip. Yep, the water was quite cold!

After drying off we continued south towards Catania looking for another rest stop. We wanted to stop at Isola Bella which we saw on our first day. It had an “island” and mansion joined to the mainland by a narrow strip. Trouble was that parking was difficult but after several attempts, we found a spot.

We made our way down steps to the crowded beach. We squeezed ourselves between some people and went for a swim. The water wasn’t as nice as our first spot of the day and the sea bed of smooth stones had a hint of green sliminess (the area wasn’t a clear open stretch subject to good flow I guess).

Isola Bella.

I noticed that people here in Italy do generally have quite good physiques compared to many other places in the world.

We returned to our hotel in Catania where we had some Weetabix for dinner. I’d be glad to get rid of this bloated feeling.

So, that was our beach day as far as we are concerned.  I brown nicely in 10 minutes and Kim burns in the same time.  There’s no need to sit in the sun all day!
