After several false starts, Marie and I finally left Sana’a today bound for Zabid via Hudayda in a pigou (Peugeot) shared taxi.
Zabid is reputedly the hottest place on earth. I have awful memories of my last visit in mid-summer … it was so hot and the power was off … no air-con then. And no point having a shower to cool-off because the water tank is on the roof … hot water, anyone?
Oh, by the way … on the way out Sana’a I saw a shop signage for the airline Air Arabia … their tagline is “Pay Less, Fly More” but on this sign it was “Bay Less, Fly More” … there is no “P” sound in the Arabic language … so do you want a Bebsi while waiting for your blane at the airbort?
