Having packed so much into the last two days, I was worn out this morning.  Burnt out on Day 6 of my travels already?  With the dull weather I felt justified to stay in and have a leisurely breakfast of muesli, yoghurt and mango.  This was followed by another lie in.

I finally left the room around midday for Pasir Tengkorak Beach about 20 minutes away.  I had timed it right with the sunshine and tide.  It was a lovely swim.

Continuing to the nearby Temurun Falls, I was disappointed.  It was a little more than a trickle, so  I turned around and headed back to my part of the island.  The plan was to go to another fall and swim at my beach making full use of the tide.  But the heavens opened and released a long spell of torrential downpour.

I rested in my room briefly.  The rain which I had outrun with the car had caught up with me, so there was no point going for another swim at my beach or in a waterfall.

By the time the rain had ceased, I found the tide right down at my beach.  I called it a day and stayed indoors until going out to get dinner at the Ramadhan Bazaar at Ayer Hangat again.  I got too much food and ate them slowly through the evening.  Again, everything was just perfectly flavoured for my tastebuds … nothing was too salty, sweet or spicy.

I wanted to see sunset from either my beach, Tanjung Rhu, or from Gunung Raya. Seeing that there was some cloud hovering around the mountains I decided that the latter would be pointless.  Sunset at Tanjung Rhu wasn’t that great either.

It had been a lazy and somewhat of a wasted day.  I guess some would call it a holiday.  So, that concludes my 4 night (3 full day) stopover at Langkawi.  The stopover had come about because I couldn’t get a cheap connecting flight from KL to Kuching but found a ridiculously good one to Langkawi.  It might seem a bit silly because I end up paying for accommodation etc, but the most important thing is that I had a good time.
