Diving in Waisai

25 June 2014

After a breakfast of muesli which I had brought from home, Apet (the guesthouse/grocery shop worker) took me to Waiwo Dive Resort for my two dives. It was a long day as the others on the boat wanted three dives which meant that I had to wait. It was 0815 to 1800 door-to-door.  You can read about my dives here.

The day was lengthened slightly by one of the props hitting a floating coconut which bent the blade. We parked off an island while the carefully removed the prop, taking care not to lose the pin/screw in the water. Then they beat the prop back into shape with a dive weight.

As for the dives, they were OK. I’ve been lucky to have relatively access to Sipadan and that kinda spoils everything else after. The coral was very beautiful in most parts but the visibility and fish wasn’t as good for the day and the sights we visited.

Frog on my balcony railing at night.
