Nearly homeless

25 August 2007

Breakfast was served on the sunny lawn.  We had nice long chats before packing up for our drive to Mont Saint-Michel about 5h drive away.

The route took us through Le Mans where Kim, being the eternal car fanatic, was very pleased about.  He visited the museum and we took a drive into the circuit.

We thought we’d stop for the night close to Mont St Michel.  We looked for accommodation but had no luck.  We were told at one hotel that at this time of year, to “just forget it” unless we backtracked considerably!  We were getting worried.

The town of Avranches seemed near enough if we had to go that far.  And we did.  We ended up at a B&B, called La Mainson Neuve.  It was in an area called Sait Loup, outside of Avranches, about 30 mins from Mont Saint-Michel.

We were lucky to be in such a nice place, as we could have been homeless, sleeping in the car!
