After the disruption yesterday, Kim arrived from Dubai.  I went to Sana’a airport by taxi to await his arrival at 0840.

I had given him good instructions to go to the Exchange first, then buy his visa second, before going to immigration with his visa already purchased.  He obviously followed my instructions as he was out pretty promptly.  In fact from touchdown back to my room in old town (by taxi and then foot), it only took an hour!

In the afternoon, I showed Kim around Old Sana’a by foot with Lou (Marie’s friend visiting from France).  Kim had brought a bottle of wine, so we enjoyed it on the rooftop.

A few of us went out for dinner at Al Fakher (next to Al Waleema) in Hadda.  It was very expensive and not that great.  But Sami is a bit careful with food places and prefers not to go to the hole-in the-wall places.  I suppose it was a better introduction to Yemen for Kim on his first day as well.

We finished up with some groceries from Shumaila Hari supermarket before heading home.  While I love sitting on the rooftop with tea and Arabic sweets (cakes) late at night, we were too tired tonight.
