Panchor Dayak Hot Springs

30 December 2013

There are a few hot springs around Kuching.  Richard and Habibah invited me to join them on a trip to the Panchor Dayak one about an hour out of town.  But as we’re on the far side of town, and due to flooding on the roads causing bad jams, it took us about 2 hours.  We left at 0730 and didn’t get there till about 0930.

With the heavy rain, the water was warm at the surface and cool below.  Normally, I’ve been told it is a bit too hot and one has to come out from time to time.  We had hoped that the rain and runoffs would have brought the temperature down to something more pleasant … but unfortunately for us, it cooled down a bit too much.

We had lunch at an Indian-Muslim place on the way home, after finding that our planned laksa stop was closed.
