Around Orlando

26 April 2007

We decided to revisit Celebration today and take some photos.  It’s a lovely place, even though it is rather contrived.

From here, we drove to north Orlando, to Winter Park.  This is a resort community founded in the 1880s.  The homes here were very nice as well but it didn’t feel like it was all built at once yesterday.

We did some pricing for some things we were mildly interested in buying.  Laptops were about 60% of the New Zealand price.  And Dickey’s apparel here are cheap as they’re genuinely destined as workshop apparel, while in New Zealand it is acceptable as casualwear.

We continued to Orlando city around Thornton Park.  There were some not-so-skyscraping tall office buildings and some nice older residential homes.  We finished our outing at a mall where we bought a suitcase, some belts and snacked on Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

Around 1730, we were back in our room for a rest.  Considering it was a nothing kind of day, we were tired.  With our bodies still on west coast time, we had a late dinner around 2000 in Celebration.
