Full circle

27 October 2019

I finished my second day of diving at Sharm today.  It was the beautiful reef fish here 15 years ago that prompted me to take up diving 5 years later.

It’s like a full circle that I’ve returned now to try diving in Sharm.  But after 10 years of diving in SE Asia, I think I’ve seen better.  Yes, the coral here is just amazing but the variety and the big stuff aren’t quite like in SE Asia.  The Red Sea has left me disappointed.

Since I’ve hardly left the resort apart from the dive trips, I made it a point of going out tonight.  I took the 1900 shuttle to Naama Bay.  It was buzzing compared to the day when I visited in the late morning.

I had dinner and ice-cream and bought some snacks for tomorrow.  I noticed in the supermarket that nuts were horrendously expensive.  Junk food like chips were cheap if they were locally made, even if they were foreign brands.   But anything imported was pricey.

I walked off dinner by walking back to the hotel.
