Around Mysore and back to Bangalore

22 July 2013

I took a walk around Mysore’s Devaraja market this morning before breakfast. Many shops were still closed; only the florists, fruit and veges were out. It was very colourful but it didn’t take long.

So it was back to the hotel for breakfast even though I was still bloated. After breakfast I had my first back-end episode in all my trips to India and the sub-continent (fifth and tenth I believe). It wasn’t serious but it was apparent it is the continuation of the bloated feeling I’ve been having for a few days.

I rested for a while to let my tummy settle before braving the journey back to Bangalore, with the assistance of a capsule of loperamide for good luck (not necessary if I had been staying put).

I got to the station by foot and found a bus which left within 15 minutes of waiting on board. It was A/C and cost INR270 as per the website. The A/C was welcome as it was hotter than yesterday.

Back to the Infantry Hotel I rested for the rest of the day and had an early night as my 0555 departure tomorrow morning would require a wakeup at 0230.
