Expecting traffic and immigration woes we headed back to Vancouver early to avoid being late for our Alaskan cruise departing at 1700.

Supposedly, it is a requirement for passengers to be checked-in and boarded two hours prior to departure, with a strict close-off at 90 mins.  So, we had to be at the Cruise Centre in the early afternoon to start the check-in process.

Thing went more smoothly than expected on the road and also re-entering the USA.  So we managed to fit in lunch and a drive around Stanley Park before returning the car and going to the Cruise Centre.  It all went downhill from there.

At the Cruise Centre, security and US Entry Immigration took two hours of waiting, some standing in line and fortunately some while seated.  Kim was in a bad state when we finally boarded the Celebrity Mercury.  He sometimes had the patience of a flea!  A few hours later (lunch, lie down, Long Island Ice Tea), he made a recovery.

After dinner the entertainment crew put on a good show in the theatre.  The featured performers were two very talented and strong gymnasts “Duo Velikovi”.
