Last stop in China

29 October 2002

Music from the CD shop started at 0900. The must have well-policed regulations about noise here. We took breakfast back at Sunshine Café, having scrambled eggs with ham and a fried egg with hashbrown (sharing halfway in our usual fashion). The Yunnan coffee was nice.

Transport to Kunming, our last stop in China,  involve a change, but it was all organised as one fare. A taxi took us to Xiaguan, taking about 30 mins. It was a brief wait where we boarded the bus to Kunming. The 4h30 bus ride was uneventful.

The Camellia Hotel in Kunming was nice and cheaper than Jinhua at Dali. It also doubles as a hostel. Kunming, at least our area, seemed very quiet at night.

We had dinner at Ao Men Meili Pub where each meal was about NZD2-3. It’s cheap compared to Chengdu where it was around NZD4 in much simpler places.

We logged on to the internet at the hotel business centre briefly before settling into bed.
