We landed in Singapore 20 mins late at 0920 for my nightstop.  Immigration was a dream using the kiosks and baggage came soon after.  To top it off, there were no queues for the taxi at Terminal 1.

We got to the Hotel 81 Gold at 1030 while their official check-in time was 1500.  The nice lady said the early check-in fee would be SGD75 but she would take SGD15.  That was a done deal as it would allow Kim to sleep up to 4h before returning to the airport.

I repacked my bags slightly so that I could undertake the rest of my journey with only cabin bags, handing over my wheelie to Kim to take back to New Zealand.

I went to visit my old aunt who is 95 years old now (I think) and had lunch with her.  She’s suffering from Parkinsons along with a few physical ailments.  It’s not too clear whether she knows me.

After a couple of hours, I returned and rested briefly before sending Kim off to the airport around 1530 by rideshare.  He had had 3h sleep, which was needed as he managed to get an economy seat on standby only at the last minute.

I had a haircut and then took dinner in the Geylang area and treated myself to an ais kacang after.   I retired around 2115 after trying not to nap during the day.  Despite having done that in order not to spoil having a good night’s rest, it didn’t work.
