Dream arrival

25 June 2023

Above:  Our first meal in Japan this trip.

Despite the slightly delayed pushback, we landed at Narita at our scheduled time of 1650.  The flight went pretty quickly with two meals, a mid-flight snack, chatting with friends on the unlimited free wifi and a lie-down.

After our dream departure from Auckland, we had a dream arrival with short queues, and getting our priority baggage immediately.

Despite the 20 min wait for the Keisei train to Narita Keisei Station, we got to the Meet Inn around 1800, which was less than an hour after disembarkation.  We were happy with our choice of hotel as it was only 3 mins walk from the east exit of Narita Keisei Station.

After a brief rest in our small room, we headed out for a brief walk and a feed.  Surprisingly, we had been hungry during the flight before the mid-flight snack and dinner.  It seemed to have continued and we needed a supper.

We ate at a Chinese-style Japanese restaurant, opting for dumplings, noodles, omurice and a couple of pieces of fried chicken.  Including a beer, it came to around NZD25!

Japan is no longer expensive for those on a New Zealand budget but quite the opposite.  We settled into bed around 2100 after a long but easy day.
