Motorcycles Diaries #2

Meng couldn’t take me out today but Bey had offered. As she was busy in the morning, it would be a 1230 start with her.Yuli brought nasi dagang with a choice of egg or tuna, and mini bread balls filled with tuna. I was told I couldn’t have just one so walked away rather full. After snacking on some muesli and milk at midday, I met Bey and her boy and set off.

Heading south and inland, we crossed made our way out to the coast again coming to Batu Madu. We didn’t linger long and continued to Batu Kasah nearby where we stayed a little longer. The rock formation here was more impressive and on land.

It was a further ride to Pantai Cemaga where the clouds looked ominous. We turned back and rode back to town braving little bits of drizzle but managed to stay dry overall. I was back by 1430. We chatted briefly outside with Yuli before I headed indoors again.

I treated everyone who had helped me to dinner tonight, namely Yuli, Meng and Bey.  We had grilled fish, grilled squid and vege.  Yuli and Bey had their kid with them.  I felt really bad that they had been so kind and had treated me like family.  I did give an “angpow” to Meng, Bey and Yuli’s little one.  But it didn’t feel enough as they were under no obligation to have been so kind. Paying for this and also last night’s dinner helped me get over it.
