Pat and Fiona were meant to try to get back to Auckland on standby tonight but they changed their mind.  They decided they would try to get on tomorrow night, whereas I’d try get on the night after that.  So, we had time to just chill today.

I went to Hougang Mall for shopping with Mum and had lunch with her.  Later on, we picked up Pat and Fiona from their hotel and continued to Parkway Mall.

We had dinner together in the food court.  I ordered a Chai Thau Kueh (loosely translated as Carrot Cake) and a Mee Rebus.  I offered Fiona a taste of the former and she gave me a petrified look and said “Not hungry”.

We dropped them back at their hotel but afterwards, got stuck in pre-Deepavali shopping traffic jam in Little India.  But the upside was that we got to enjoy the beautifully decorated and lit-up ambience of Little India.

The car tyres made a funny noise a little later.  I went out to look a few times but none appeared flat.  If anything, one seemed over-inflated.  Shortly later, we swerved and stopped.  This time, it was apparent that the rear left tyre had blown.  We made it home after a tyre change.
