Despite flying in from the west, I woke at 0630. However, with the cool damp weather expected outside, and no pressing hunger or plans, I stayed indoors till 0930.
I checked out a place that came highly recommended, to try get brunch, but it was closed today.
Leaving my room again at 1100, it was peak check-out time and I had to wait forever for the lifts.
I headed to the western end of the runway at Songshan Airport to watch some planes come in. Planespotting is a new experience for me and wow! It was quite an thrill being right under a widebody jet seconds before its touchdown, or feeling the jet blast of one taking off.
With my body still on Middle Eastern time, I managed to put off lunch till after 1300. It’s quite strange for most people that I would choose to eat Indonesian when in Taipei; there are several good outlets at the Taipei Main Station Mall underground.

With wet weather through the afternoon, I spent the rest of the day largely indoors.
