Wet lazy day

12 June 2025

Above:  My Indonesian lunch.

The weather turned as I prepared to venture out today, with intermittent drizzle continuing through the day.  It wasn’t forecast and even when it was raining, the forecast said it was currently cloudy!  That’s so unusual as forecasts show a rainy icon with the slightest showers.

I had thought of going to the viewpoint at the end of Songshan airport runway to watch planes come in.  In this weather, it wasn’t a good idea.

For a city which I’ve visited a few times and with one more visit on the cards, I did some admin and then relaxed in various indoor settings including grabbing an Indonesian meal in the underground shopping mall.

In the evening, I met Kim, MH and WL at the station after their flight from Auckland.  I walked them to the hotel along the best possible route through exit K12.  Some exits have about three flights of steps and aren’t aligned to a pedestrian crossing.

We had a light dinner together at a dumpling shop before retiring.  They had an early start with a departure time of 0940 from Auckland, with 4h time difference.
