Above:  My new Toyota Crown Hybrid.

I flew back to Auckland on the 0930 flight this morning.  Kim was meant to stay an extra two days but ended up coming back only a day after me.

Picking him up from the airport, we called past a car dealer and settled on a Toyota Crown Hybrid to drive home.   Just over two weeks ago, also returning from a minibreak, I had sold my Toyota Mark X and the Crown would be its replacement.  While I had only wanted a small car like the Nissan Note, I fell in love with the Crown’s quietness, refinement and stereo quality.  It wasn’t far behind Kim’s temporary Range Rover Discovery Autobiography in terms of all that.  Especially at NZD12250, it was a mere fraction of the Range Rover’s price.
