We departed from Auckland at 0900 bound for Rarotonga. But it was an early set-off from the house at 0630 to avoid the Auckland traffic.
But before that, I had to spend about 15 minutes on the computer as AirAsia had a sale for their new flights from Kuala Lumpur to Seoul … so I managed to snap up a return ticket for a song. This will work in well in about 11 months time when I will be up that way.
It was a relaxed flight from Auckland to Rarotonga. It was cut short from 4h to 3h30min due to favourable jetstream.
We arrived on Tuesday … one day before we left (Wednesday) … due to crossing the International Dateline. Our hotel, Aquarius Rarotonga, was only 2 minutes walk across the road from the airport. This made it a very convenient nightstop for our morning flight to Aitutaki.
