I was meant to be jobless by now. So I booked a winter escape to Cairns and the Barrier Reef.
But as it turned out, I got extended in my contract rather unexpectedly. So I get to keep a job and go on a short holiday. Having my cake and eating it too 🙂 Is that priceless or what?!
We had an early-ish wake-up to catch the Air New Zealand flight departing Auckland at 0915 with flight time of 5h40, landing in Cairns at 1255. In fact, I had studied the weekly schedule and picked a departure day that didn’t have a super-early flight leaving about 2h earlier.
