Seeing our new apartment

To get from Singapore to my hometown in Kuching, there are daily direct flights.  But with high departure taxes from Singapore’s Changi Airport and a high fare, it was much cheaper to cross the border to Johor Bahru in Malaysia, and then fly from there to Kuching.

The 1545 departure on Malaysia Airlines got us to Kuching at 1710 where we had a six night stay.  That gave us five full days to get familiar with our newly purchased apartment and set it up comfortably for future visits.

[Edit:  While it was an idea to let Mum and step-dad live in it, they eventually got their own place.  Owning the apartment turned out to be god-sent on my frequent visits as it gave me time-out from them.  The benefit was truly realised when I had a long stay of about 3 months in Kuching during Covid-19.]

Some photos of the apartment taken on a later trip.
