I leave Kuala Lumpur today for hometown, after a whole in the big city. The day was spent having lunch in Kampung Baru, a long massage and dinner with friends Faiz and Colin.
I woke at 0615 to take the 0700 train to the airport. I did a lot of work at the landside lounge where I also had breakfast, since there is no airside lounge for domestic departures at Terminal 2.
Heading airside, my two cabin bags weighed 14.05 kg. I had purchased an extra 7 kg, giving me a total of 14 kg.
I checked my departure gate and settled in to find that it was rather quiet. Before I felt suspicious, a staff member came to round people up advising of a last minute gate change.
The AirAsia plane for Kuching was still being unloaded of bags when boarding was complete and doors closed. The pilot apologised for the last minute gate change which had been caused by a likelihood of the aircraft at the previous gate being delayed.
We pushed back 1 min late at 1051. Somehow, despite having breakfast at the lounge, I was a bit peckish on the flight. I enquired about buying a meal and ended up eating more than I needed because I was tempted by the temporary Ramadan combo of ayam percik with tomato rice and curried cabbage, curry puff, traditional kuih and an iced drink.
I was picked up at the airport by my sister, who is still visiting from Guernsey and her husband David. The inflight meal set me up for a busy afternoon cleaning, mopping and taking my pair of spectacle frame to the optician for re-lensing.

The day concluded with dinner with my uncle Henry and aunt who is showing signs of old age deterioration since my last visit.
