Melaka along with Penang and Singapore is home to the Peranakan (Nyonya) people who created fusion food drawing from Malay and Chinese flavours. It appears that the dishes here are more similar to what my Mum makes, compared to those in Penang. I try them out and make comparisons to the home-cooked flavours that I know.
