2012 Vava'u: Swim with whales and diving

We went to Vava'u in Tonga primarily to swim with the humpback whales which pass through seasonally.  We also managed to fit in two dives in the amazingly clear waters but there wasn't much fish to see at all.  Luckily, the underwater seascape was interesting with dropoffs and swim-throughs.  The highlight was of course swimming (snorkel) with the whales.  We came up within spitting distance of a pod of three.  Photo by Dyfed Evans.
