Carrot cake, but not as you know it

Tonight's dinner is a favourite on streets in Malaysia. It is called Chai Thau Kueh (Hokkien), Cha Kueh Kak (Penang Hokkien), Lobak Ko (Cantonese). Normally translated as carrot cake in English, it is a cake of rice flour and parsnips (which are essentiallly white carrots) fried up as if it was a noodle.  [View photos]
